Zbigniew Libera

The artist has copied the abstract pattern from the marbleised inlay of the royal portfolio. On the one hand, he draws attention to the genealogy of the modern language of abstract art, on the other—he comments on the design of the aesthetical and political activity of Stanisław August. Libera is particularly interested in the moment the vision of the autonomy of art is born and in the relationship between the language of art and politics.
