Augustin Brunais

Italian painter, draughtsman, lithographer born and educated in Rome. His works were mainly historical in subject, along with genre studies and architectural sketches. In 1752 he was honoured with an award from the Accademia di San Luca in Rome. He travelled a great deal, working for the British on the island of Hispaniola (on the territory of today’s Dominican Republic) and other parts of the Caribbean.
