Mikołaj Sobczak

Mikołaj Sobczak graduated from the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts and the Studio of Spatial Activities. Holder of the scholarship from Universität der Künste in Berlin. Since 2015 studies at the Münster Kunstakademie. Works with video art, painting and performance. Often creates and performs with German artist Nicholas Grafia. Sobczak is also the co-founder of the duo Polen Performance (with Justina Los). At the heart of his interests lies the reflection on global mechanisms of consumption and aspirational lifestyles characteristic for late capitalism. Moreover, in his works, Sobczak observes how politics, particularly historical politics, impacts the fate of marginalised social groups and creates various levels of exclusion.
