Mikołaj Sobczak

The piece refers to the mechanism governing the Polish political scene: when one group comes to power, there is no room for another in the public space and—metaphorically—it goes underground. The underground becomes a place permanently rooted in the Polish identity. In the drawing Underground, you can see two ‘nations’ fighting against one another who are forced to co-exist in their final exile to the underground world.
