Olga Czernyszewa

Olga Chernysheva is a vigilant chronicler of the Russian political transformation from the ‘90s to the present day. She has focused on minor, marginal actors of the process, such as street vendors—the ‘callers’ of today. The figure drawn by her is disguised as a bear and hums an inaudible melody (or is simply silent). It epitomises confusion and disorientation in which the Russian public sphere is drowned today.
