Anna Boghiguian
Anna Boghiguian’s works make a reference to the ‘townsman of Aleppo’, whose portrait you can see in the Print Room among other human types and costumes. Boghiguian is a Cairo-born nomad artist with Armenian origins. In her art she has been discussing the issue of a complex identity for years: what leaves the mark on the identity and what erases it. Mapping the world, she reveals a constant, universal dispute between human freedom aspirations and political and cultural oppression.
